Adding a Non-Resident State Appointment Per Carrier Instructions

If a state is missing email brokersupport@aetna.com, your name, NPN, non resident license, and state you would like to be contracted in that state.

Some state appointments are processed just in time, and others need an appointment prior to submitting business. Review Aetna’s Pre-Appointment State List

This change needs to be made in your Aetna Senior Supplement portal by you. Click here to Follow these instructions to complete your request.

New contracting is required for each state with Anthem. Please complete the Producer Information Form to request contract.

Just in Time appointment This means if you currently hold a license for this state, then you write and submit business in this state, and you will then be appointed there.

Email a copy of your license to carl@cigna.com. Please include your name and NPN in the body of the email.

The only states that are pre-appoint for MAPD are AL, OK, OR, PA, and WA.  All other states are Just in Time (JIT) states so appointments for those states will not be placed until after the agent has submitted their first enrollment.  As a reminder, the agent must be contracted, certified, and licensed prior to making a sale in any JIT state.

This is a just in time carrier except for business submitted in PA, MT and TX. This means you will be appointed at the same time you write your first piece of business, except in PA, MT and TX.

If you need to be pre-appointed in PA, MT or TX please email license and request for appointment to CSBLicensing@Cigna.com

Subject Line: Add Additional States

Include copy of licenses for requested states. Broker Support will respond back to you and cc your upline once you have been appointed and are ready to sell in additional state(s).

Email add state requests with a copy of your non resident license to  CONTRACTSANDAPPOINTMENTS@MUTUALOFOMAHA.COM. Include your name, carrier ID and NPN.

If you are already contracted with SCAN and want to add a non-resident state, email scanbrokercontracting@scanhealthplan.com . State your full name, NPN, state and license number.

SCAN will then send you the Multi State contract to complete. Once completed you can then sell in the states requested.

UnitedHealthcare is now offering Just-In-Time non-resident state appointments for Street and LOA agents only, in the following states:

All agents must be sure that their upline is both licensed and appointed in the JIT state before they sell in a JIT state.

Just-in-Time (JIT) appointment is when a carrier submits the producer’s appointment to the state insurance department after the producer has solicited and submitted their first new business case for that carrier. Not all states permit JIT appointments. Those that do allow JIT appointment do so on the condition that the agent has a valid license for the state where the business is solicited.

• The agent’s upline must be both licensed and appointed in the state *Note* Please be sure to talk to your upline before selling in a JIT state.
• The agent must be properly licensed in the state. *Note* Please check UHCJarvis.com to check that you are properly licensed before selling.
• JIT states are for Street and LOA agents ONLY
• Non-resident appointment fees still apply
• Agents who are already appointed in Just in Time states will remain appointed

**MedicareCENTER note** If an agent’s resident state is a JIT state they must first sell a plan using the UHC portal or a paper application. 

This is a Just in Time appointment process. You will find this information in your Centene Workbench portal.  Your state license needs to show under the licensing tab.  Any states listed in your licensing tab are states you are able to submit business in.
